How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - 500 Employees for Hinduja Global Services as Flexi-work Week Legislation passed by the Senate

Great news Call Center peeps at ACCENT, Xerox and Fullgram!

I’ve got more interest happening in the Call Center World that’s waaaay more interesting that what Yendi Phillipps may NOT be wearing under those skin tight leather leggings as Agent Y in Digicel’s latest Spy vs Spy themed Marketing push.

Hinduja Global Services, a BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) company (read “Call Center”) on Monday November 3rd 2014 has secured yet another contract to handle the Customer Services of another Local Banking Firm as stated in the article “Hinduja inks another deal with local banking firm”, published Wednesday, November 05, 2014 BY KARENA BENNETT Business Reporter, The Jamaica Observer.

But of greater importance to Call Center peeps is that they taking on an additional 500 persons as part of the 17,000 sq ft expansion, part of their US$300 million (J$33.9 billion), as according to Regional Manager of Hinduja, Eddie Quintal, it's all about the clients, quote: “Our expansions are driven primarily by the market, so if tomorrow I get a client who wants us to do business in Montego Bay, I'll do it”.

They're hope to cap off their expansion in Jamaica by March 2015 and in the process bolster their revenue based with local firm, as currently as much as 28% of their revenue is coming from Healthcare Clients as noted in the article “Hinduja expands business in Jamaica; other BPO operators secure more space”, published Wednesday, October 29, 2014, The Jamaica Observer.

There's even the possibility that they may eventually out-compete other Call Centers to get the lucrative contract for JPS Co (Jamaica Public Service Company) to quote Regional Manager of Hinduja, Eddie Quintal: “We had looked at the Jamaica Public Service (JPS), but they were going through some transitioning with their top management at the time”.

With some 8500 employees in North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa handling some 141 client accounts as stated in “Hinduja Global Solutions Expands Business in Jamaica”, published Mon Oct 27, 2014 6:45am EDT, Reuters, the Jamaican expansion is a welcome relief to those Millennials (ages 18 to 28) and High School leaders leading to see employment.

Best of all, more faith placed in Jamaicans is a sign that the Call Center World is expanding as evidenced from the current expansion in of another BPO, Sutherland Global as noted in my blog article entitled “How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - 20000 Call Center Jobs at Sutherland Global in New Kingston and Mandeville means boom time for NCU Students in Manchester”.

Flexi-work Week Legislation passed by the Senate - More Call Centers coming as legislation says Jamaica is open for business

So is the BPIAJ (Business Process Industry Association of Jamaica) investment in a Call Center Agent Training School thanks to a US$900,000 ($100.8 million) Loan from the IDB as I’d reported in my blog article entitled “How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - BPIAJ Call Center Agent Training School for US$900,000 as Montego Bay Freezone Expands” was well founded.

Some 2500 jobs created thus far in 2013 and another 10,000 to be created in the Call Center Industry by 2018 especially as more Colleges like UCC (University College of the Caribbean) begin to train students to work in Call Centers as noted in my blog article entitled “How to find work in Jamaica at Call Centers - US$5-million Call Center in Portmore jointly being built by UCC and Property Developer Gordon Tewani”.

Expansion is a must for Hinduja Global Services as these 500 jobs could not have come at a better time.

Let's hope that as the flexi-week legislation has now come into effect having been passed into law by the Upper House (Senate) as stated in the article “Upper House passes flexi-work Bill” published Monday, November 03, 2014, The Jamaica Observer and the Horses' Mouth, the Jamaica Information Service as noted in their article “Senate Approves Flexi Work Arrangement Bill”, published November 2, 2014 by Latonya Linton, The Jamaica Information Service.

Hopefully, Jamaican workplaces, like the BPO Industry can take advantage of our close proximity to the American Market as well as our propensity to speak as our American clients do.
